Let us enter into I WANT TO SEE GOD

You can find here two complete chapters of I want to see God :

  • Teresian spirit
  • Silent prayer

Teresian spirit:

In a few pages, Fr. Marie-Eugene introduces us into what constitutes the soul of ‘La Madre’ : her love of Jesus-Christ, whom she wants to seek for in solitude, inseparable from her love of the Church. This woman, who wanted to introduce the reader into a personal dialogue with Christ, vibrated with the challenges of her time. This « outstanding mystic, tirelessly active » (Blessed Paul VI) is a true daughter of the prophet Elijah.

The two main characteristics of this Prophet, cited in the motto of Carmel, constitute the thread running through this chapter :

He is living, the Lord in whose presence I stand…
I burn with zeal for the Lord God of hosts

Silent Prayer

Located in the first part of the book, this chapter develops the main principles of silent prayer as saint Teresa of Avila defines it.

After describing the place of silent prayer in the heart of the reform which the Saint initiated in Carmel, it provides the foundations of prayer, which knows no other law than « the free expression of two loves ».
