Catechetical formation conference

Event Details

Come, Follow Me is a beautiful catechetical method that helps children contemplate and pray lessons from scripture and sacraments – similar to lectio divina for children. It was developed by members of Notre Dame de Vie Institute in France and has received the imprimatur for catechetical use. The program has also received the stamp of approval of the French Episcopal Commission for Catechesis and the Catechumenate.

The conference will be held on Friday, March 20 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 21 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the Dominican Campus, Nashville, Tennessee.

The conference will be focused on preparation for using the methodology with children ages 7-11 but with principles that can be applied to children and youth of all ages.

Sister Hyacinthe Defos du Rau, O.P. of the Dominican Sisters of St. Joseph of Lymington is coming from England to teach the method. Sister Hyacinthe forms catechists in the Come, Follow Me catechetical method throughout the U.K. The program was introduced in the United States at the St. John Bosco Conference at Franciscan University of Steubenville in 2015. We are thrilled to have Sister Hyacinthe back in the United States for this Come Follow Me Catechetical Formation Conference. Sister will speak in English with simultaneous translation to Spanish.

Cost: $50 per participant includes handouts, breakfast, and lunch on Saturday

Limited on-campus accommodations will be available: $100 per room per night with two-person capacity and shared suite bathroom with the room next door.

Registration will open in mid-November 2019.
